The Embodied Clarity Approach
Embodied Clarity is our natural state. It is an inner state of calmness, self-awareness, and self-reliance that is achieved by returning to a kind of homeostasis in which the excess noise of life, thoughts, and emotions can settle down into the background. From there genuine clarity can arise. Modern life, however, often prevents us from ever truly residing in our own experience long enough to learn to trust our embodied experience. The affects can reverberate out through all areas of our life: from work performance, to personal relationships to physical and emotional health.
The Embodied Clarity approach to Coaching is a form of Somatic Coaching based on the belief that all of our answers and wisdom reside within us. The problem is that it’s often difficult to hear or trust that internal knowing because there is too much noise in the way. And more importantly, we often don’t stop to listen. We literally look for the “keys” outside where there is more light, even though the answers are in our own home. Therefore, Embodied Clarity starts with “coming home” to yourself and turning on your internal light.
Coming home means a lot of things, but it starts by simply coming home in the body by settling onto the natural support of our skeletal system. When we are truly supported and calm, “down to our marrow”, we can experience a new sense of calm and clarity. From there new possibilities can arise. The lights are turned on inside, so to speak, and we can begin to develop awareness of mental processes and bodily sensations which provide feedback and guidance about every aspect of our lives—from responding to the various stressors of work and life, to nurturing relationships and improving our overall health and well-being. Our actions become guided by real-time information about how we feel and think about a given situation. We recognize that there is nothing to look for outside, but instead a powerful returning home to the reality of our experience. By consciously choosing to settle “home”, we can ignite our internal light, uncover our innate wisdom, regain a sense of possibility and nurture our creative nature. Our internal compass and intuition can emerge once again to lead us powerfully into a fulfilling direction with joy, ease and clarity.
By combining my training in the Feldenkrais Method, Qigong and Integral Coaching, I am able to sense how patterns of thought and emotion manifest in the body and can prevent you from fully actualizing your potential. I also combine these techniques with other wisdom traditions and design exercises and practices to help you become fundamentally at home and supported by your body. From here you can begin to shift how you relate to and inhabit your body so that new possibilities for action can arise. Ultimately you will develop the ability make choices and take action from a powerfully rooted foundation.
Sessions may include verbal instruction or hands on input to direct your awareness to various aspects and sensations in your body as well as traditional Integral Coaching to provide insight, exercises and practices.

Types of Sessions
I offer two different options for engagement: Full Programs and Individual Coaching Sessions
Full Programs: 3-6 Month Intensive Coaching Engagements
Intensive coaching is an opportunity to dive deep and develop a relationship to address critical aspects of your life. In my experience, lasting self-development and behavioral modification takes time to sink in as well as time to be incorporated into your body and way of being. Therefore, even if you have an insight that shifts your outlook in the first few sessions, support is necessary to nurture and cultivate the change into a lasting behavior.
MONTH 1:
- Written self assessment completed by client
- 90 min. intake session
- Personalized Development Plan with Purpose and Outcomes, Self-Observations and Somatic Practices
MONTHS 2-6:
- Two 90 min in-person sessions / per month
- Two 15-30 min. phone check-ins / per month
Sessions include: 30-45 minutes of somatic practices or hands on work to get client to a place of embodied clarity, and 45-60 minutes of talking.
Individual Coaching Sessions
Individual Coaching Sessions are for people who are not yet ready to invest in the Intensive Coaching Programs. Individual Coaching Sessions are 60-90 minutes long and include somatic practices or hands-on work to cultivate a new way of being when we dive into the coaching topic. Although you are not investing in a more in depth program and support, Individual Sessions provide an opportunity to gain insight into critical aspects of your life. You still receive the benefit of my years of working with people to quickly assess and provide you with real time insights and homework to move you forward on your path. This style of work is better for people who need less guidance or who simply cannot afford an Intensive Program at this time.
I like to think of these sessions as a la carte sessions, because they do not include an extensive intake, assessment, program design, follow up, or weekly check-ins. My time is confined the period of time we are face to face, in contrast to the Intensive Monthly Programs in which I spend a considerable amount of time preparing, designing practices, sending follow up summaries and being on-call for emergencies and support.
A minimum of 4 sessions is required, after which individual sessions can be booked as you wish.
