A typical coaching relationship lasts approximately 6 months. After conducting a detailed intake, a plan is specifically designed for you based upon the purpose and intended outcomes we have identified together. You will be assigned self-observations, exercises, practices, books, or activities that are designed to help you gain insight into your behaviors, thoughts and actions and practice new methods of approaching situations or problems. By actually practicing new behaviors, you embody the desired changes rather than simply gaining an intellectual awareness of them. In addition, we generally meet 4 times per month alternating between hour-long face to face sessions and short phone check-ins to track and discuss your progress and continue to gain insights about your habits, behaviors, feelings and thoughts. If you do not live in the San Francisco Bay Area, it is still highly effective to conduct the entire relationship over the phone.
